Nate the Great Heading North?
The Boston Celtics are reportedly poised to deal veteran guard Eddie House to the Knicks in exchange for Nate Robinson.
The reeling Celtics have been searching for a better backup solution at point guard than House provides them and feel Robinson is that guy. Robinson would also give them some energy and a better scoring threat off the bench.
Bringing they dynamic Robinson on board has tons of upside but it also has some potential pitfalls for the Celtics. The one thing the Celtics have above most of the other teams in the league is a tight nit locker room that oozes strong chemistry.
The mercurial Robinson has been tough to deal with at times throughout his career and has spent a good part of this season in Knicks’ coach Mike D’Antoni’s doghouse and can tend to be his own player at times. He is not always the most team-oriented guy and go free lance in an effort to showcase his talent. As one commentator put it he can go out and win a game with 30 off the bench for you one night and then go out and lose the game for you the next night trying to score another 30 points.
From a talent perspective Robinson is an upgrade over House, but, House tends to know his role and shuts his mouth for Doc Rivers. Will Robinson be willing to do the same if it means a shot at getting to the Finals this spring?
